Alice Holton
Few people have left legacies in Michigan. Jay Vandel and Dick Devos in Grand Rapids did. In Cedar Springs only one street bears the name of a giving husband and wife. Holton Drive. Alice and Mike gave back so much to our little community. They gave computers to Hilltop Elementary School classrooms when computers were not a common thing. Alice and Mike made over our athletic track at more than $700,000. They paid to have a crosswalk constructed over Main Street so scholars could safely cross over to the park. They paid to have our local cemetery’s roads paved that Alice and the rest of us will make our final trip on. It isn’t the things they bought us that I will remember most. Their cheerful outlook on life is what I will remember.
Ask yourself….what will they remember about you? We were blessed to have known Alice and Mike. We are sorry for yours and our loss.
