On Thursday, September 19, the Cedar Springs Red Hawks JV football team received their first loss of the season against the Dux of Zeeland West. The game was played at Zeeland’s stadium and the final score of the game was 36-14 in favor of Zeeland West. The Red Hawk’s record is now 3-1.

Even though the Hawks lost, they fought a hard battle. The offense and defense were both strong for Cedar Springs. Keenan Gosselin ran for a 60-yard touchdown and Isaiah MacDonald also ran for a 2-yard touchdown. Damarcus Barnett and Lane Gott had key interceptions to keep the Red Hawks in the game.

“We played a really good football team and made a few mistakes that costed us in the end,” said Coach Streeter. “But we never gave up and all of those mistakes are correctable.”

On Thursday, September 26, the Red Hawks take on the Hawks of Forest Hills Eastern at Red Hawk Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Be there to support your Cedar Springs JV Red Hawks as they play their first conference game of the season and look for their fourth win, and don’t forget to look for details in next week’s Post! Good luck guys!
