Traveler’s Trunk new and used books

*BUS-Travelers TrunkLooking for a book but don’t want to pay top dollar? You will want to check out the new bookstore at 25 S. Main Street. Cedar Springs author Amanda Litz recently opened Traveler’s Trunk New and Used Books and Other Treasures. They sell new and used books, and other treasures, and offer book trade-ins for store credit.

Litz said her focus is to provide quality books at affordable prices. “Most books are between $1 and $5, and we even have a decent 50-cent discount bookshelf,” she explained. There is a sitting/reading area, and a play area for children.
Books aren’t the only treasures you can find at Traveler’s Trunk. They also have an artist coming in on Mondays and Thursdays from 1 to 5 p.m. to sell her art, and she will hold an art class once a month for $5 per person. The first class will be September 26 at 5 p.m. They also have a puzzlebook maker who will come in on periodically on Saturdays. Litz said they want to provide a place for people to do fun things, such as the art, and also welcomes people to call if they would like to host a small event at the store, such as a poetry reading or chess tournament.

The store will also be doing a holiday fundraiser to buy books for each of the children in DeVos Children’s Hospital.
For info on the art classes or other questions, call (937) 903-9233. Store hours are 12:30 to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday noon to 5 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and closed Sunday and Tuesday.
