The Cedar Springs JV team earned their third win of the season on Wednesday, September 11, making their record 3-0. The Hawks’ defeated the Holland Christian Maroons 42-20 at Maroon stadium. The Hawks offense was strong, with rushing touchdowns completed by Karionte Hale and Anthony Topolski. The team’s quarter back, Collin Alvesteffer, passed to Lane Gott and DaMarcus Barnett for two more touchdowns.

The Hawks’ key to victory on Wednesday was their strong pursuit and hustle on defense. The Hawks did not have any turnovers throughout the whole game.

The defense was also strong with interceptions completed by Anthony Topolski and Lane Gott. Royce Sella and DaMarcus Barnett also had key sacks in the game.

“It was a great opportunity to get better and to work on some things that needed polishing,” commented Coach Streeter. “Overall, we were put in some uncomfortable positions that forced us to make adjustments and get better.”
On Thursday, September 19, the JV Red Hawks travel to Zeeland West High School. Kickoff is at 6:30 pm. The team is looking for their fourth win of the season. Good luck Hawks, and look for details in next week’s Post!
