National Model Aviation Day

Aug. 17: Wolverine Skyhawks Model Club AMA #1514 invite you to support a great cause (Wounded Warrior Project) and enjoy a fun day of RC Model Aircraft flying on Saturday, August 17 10am-4pm at the Cedar Springs field, 13540 West Street. Free admission to the Public. Spectators are welcome. All types of powered aircraft. Pilots from all over west Michigan will be flying a variety of  RC Aircraft. All proceeds will be donated to the nonprofit organization Wounded Warrior Project which provides programs and services for injured veterans and their families. #32,33p

 

Dinner at the Legion

Aug. 19: American Legion, 80 Main St. Cedar Springs, is hosting a Swiss steak dinner on Monday, August 19th , from 5 – 7 pm. Included will be mashed potatoes, baked beans, veggies, salad, dessert and drinks. All dinners are $9, children $4.50. Enjoy home cooking, take out is available. 616-696-9160. #33p

 

Second Annual Keeler Brass Picnic

Auditions for CS Community Players

Aug. 21,22: Auditions for the Cedar Springs Community Player’s fall production “What is Susan’s Secret?” will be held on August 21 and 22 at the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church from 6 to 7:30 pm. Needed are 7 male and 7 female actors and actresses ages 20 – 75. Rehearsals are every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30 to  9 pm. We also need volunteers to work backstage, build and paint the set, run the lights and sound. Performance dates are October 17 – 19 at the historic Kent Theatre in downtown Cedar Springs. Annual 2nd Best Sale

Aug. 23,24: Holy Spirit Episcopal Church’s Annual 2nd Best Sale will be Friday, August 23 from 9am–4pm and Saturday, August 24 from 9am–2pm. It is sponsored by the All Saints Guild (ECW) in support of parish activities. There is something for everyone; clothes, books, toys, housewares, sporting goods, furniture, electronics, craft supplies, jewelry etc. Everything is priced to move! The church is located at 1200 Post Drive NE, Belmont (corner of Post and Pine Island, ¼ mile west of Exit 95 on US 131). #33

Sept. 7: The Cedar Springs Class of 1978 Reunion will be held on Saturday September 7, 2013 at Whitefish Lake Golf Course The Loon’s Nest. Admission to the event is $25 per person.
