The Montcalm County Neighborhood Watch program is again offering an old-fashioned summer picnic for the whole family to enjoy. The event will be held at the Montcalm Township Hall Complex located on M-91 in Turk Lake on Saturday, August 3, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy free hot dogs, chips, and ice cream, plus lots of fun and entertainment.
One of the most interesting exhibits last year demonstrated by the Montcalm Township Fire Department will be available again this year and promises to be just as exciting and informative. For the second year they will be using the Jaws of Life to demonstrate their skill in extricating victims from vehicles involved in crashes. We found that this information provides understanding and comfort to our residents, knowing that we have well-qualified and trained first-responders who will assist them on the scene, if needed. Many other displays and demonstrations will also be available including the ever popular Smoke House, the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Marine Division, the Dive Team, and the Mobile Command Center. Furthermore, instruction regarding how to effectively describe a subject or vehicle involved in a crime will also be part of the event.
Our goal is to bring community members together to socialize and discover the many services Montcalm County has to offer. Please plan to bring your family for an afternoon of entertainment, fun, and free food.
