The Cedar Springs Fire Department is proud to announce that firefighter Troy Detloff will be appointed to fill the position of Deputy Chief on the department.

Detloff’s appointment will begin on July 1, 2013, and continue for a period of one year. The one-year assignment is part of a new training program that has been developed by the department to provide officer command training for future command positions within the department.

“We decided to give everyone a chance to get command experience,” since Fire Chief Marty Fraser.

Detloff has been a member of the Cedar Springs Fire department since August 1, 2007, and has been instrumental in assisting with various activities during his service to the department.

He is married to Melissa, and they have three children that attend Cedar Springs Public Schools.
