Dinner at the Legion

June 17: American Legion, 80 Main St. Cedar Springs, is hosting a swiss steak dinner on Monday, June 17th, from 5 – 7 pm. Included will be  mashed potatoes, baked beans, veggies, salad, dessert and drinks. All dinners are $9, children $4.50. Enjoy home cooking, take out is available. 616-696-9160. #24p


Rocket Football Registration

June 18: The Cedar Springs Youth Football program is now taking registrations for flag and rocket football. Our sign up dates are June 18, 19 & 20, from 6-8 pm at Skinner Field, Morley Park. Flag football is for children ages 4-7 and begins July 9. Rocket football begins the end of Aug. and your child must be 8 years old by Nov. 1. Downright Digging-est Storytime

June 18: Join us for a way-down, low-down storytime with stories and activities that give a sneak peek at the critters that love hanging out in the dirt. Don’t worry – you’ll leave clean as a whistle. Tuesday, June 18 at 10:30 am. Sand Lake/Nelson Township KDL Branch, 88 Eighth St. #24


Pet Show

June 18: Is your pet a star? Every critter’s a winner in this unique show designed to put the spotlight on your furry friend. All acts must pre-register. Visit the library for more details. Tuesday, June 18 at 4 pm.  Spencer Township KDL Branch, 14960 Meddler Ave. #24



June 19: Scary or Hairy – Running or Purring! Barking or Snarling – Let’s find out! How they survive or not survive! Animals know that life boils down to eat or be eaten. Students will explore the complexities of predator-prey relationships by playing a hands on game with unexpected consequences that focuses on concepts like habitat, food chains, population dynamics and more. Wednesday, June 19, 10 am to 2 pm. $4.50 donation. Grades Pre-K through 7th grade, limited to 25 children so sign up now. Parents are encouraged to join along (not required). Bring a brown bag lunch and dress for the outdoors.


Secret Garden Tour

June 22: The Friends of the Timothy C. Hauenstein Reynolds Township will host the 2nd Annual Secret Garden Tour on Saturday, June 22 from 10 am to 4 pm. The rain date is June 29th. Tickets are $10 ($12 the day of the tour. Tickets available at Kindel & Co., Howard City Floral, Cedar Springs Floral, and Timothy C. Hauenstein Reynolds Township Library. #24


Worship Singspiration

June 23: Victory Baptist Church of Sand Lake will host an area Worship Singspiration on Sunday, June 23 at 6 pm at Victory Hall. Denny Richards will lead in singing and will be joined by several musical guests with special numbers. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the event. The location is 16415 Meddler Ave., Sand Lake. For more information, contact Gail Armstrong at 616-984-0633. Everyone is welcome. #24


Red Flannel Festival Art Review

July 1: Artists Wanted! The Red Flannel Festival is pleased to add the Red Flannel Art Review as a new event for 2013. This art contest will bring art to local businesses for visitors to enjoy. $850 in prizes will be awarded based on popular vote and a jury’s vote. Several venues are ready to go, and now we need artists! Please visit www.redflannelfestival.org for more information and registration forms. Hurry, registration forms are due by July 1st. #24
