Beach Picnic Basket hosts successful charity fun run

N-Beach-Picnic-Run1N-Beach-Picnic-Run3Beach Picnic Basket hosted its first Run to End Hunger 3K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday June 1. Almost 90 community members participated in the event located on the campus of Cedar Springs Public Schools.

The 3K Fun Run/Walk raised $2,000 for Beach Picnic Basket, a non-profit organization that provides meals to food insecure students in Cedar Springs Public Schools. Beach Picnic Basket provided over 15,000 meals to CSPS students during the 2012-2013 school year.

N-Beach-Picnic-Run2All participants received a participation ribbon. Trophies were also awarded to the first place male and female in each of the following categories: adult runner, youth runner, and walker. The winners were: adult runners Brandon Smith and Shannon Potter; youth runners Ben VanDusen and Isabelle Korody; walkers Joshua Craig and Abigail Twork.

Everyone had a wonderful time while raising money to help children in their community.
