Colleen Corrigan-Duncan went missing in Sparta Monday evening.

Colleen Corrigan-Duncan went missing in Sparta Monday evening.

UPDATE: The body of Colleen Corrigan-Duncan has reportedly been found. According to Sparta Police Chief Andy Milanowksi, a witness who had seen the news reports called the tip line and said that she had seen a woman walking on the shoulder of 13 Mile Road, just east of the village limits, about 10:45 p.m. The driver said that when she drove through again a few minutes later, she did not see the woman. The Michigan State Police helicopter then took off and searched that area and found the body of the woman within seconds. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow to determine the cause of death. Chief Milanowski said foul play is not suspected.

Sparta Police are searching for a 51-year-old woman that walked away from her home to get a drink at McDonald’s on Monday, June 10, and hasn’t been seen since.

Colleen J. Corrigan-Duncan told her caretaker that she was walking to McDonald’s in Sparta for a drink about 10:30 p.m. Monday evening. She was last seen wearing denim shorts, a black hooded sweatshirt, and white shoes with pink stripes.  She also walks holding her left arm likes she’s  favoring it, and has a piercing over one of her eye brows.

The family is concerned since she left her phone and identification behind. They are also concerned because of statements she made to family members in person and on facebook. She had recently sought care for an unspecified medical condition.

Police currently have the Kent County K-9 Search and Rescue Team actively looking in the immediate area around her home due to the amount of fields and wooded area nearby. They ask that if someone gave her a ride or knows of her whereabouts to contact the Sparta Police at (616) 887-7331 or Silent Observer at (616) 454-9110.
