Youth wrestlers looking good

-S-Wrestling-youthDespite being on Christmas break, a select few of the Cedar Springs Youth wrestlers continued to work hard, attending two separate tournaments held on January 6, 2013. The first tournament was held at Belding High School where they brought home a total of five medals. Cody Averill and Trevor Marsman finished in 2nd place. Craig Lee took home a 3rd place and Austin Averill and Sam Couturier each brought home 4th place medals.

The second tournament held at MSU in Lansing was the Spartan Country “Super Bowl of Wrestling.” Over 500 of top wrestlers in the state of Michigan use this tournament to gauge where they stand for upcoming State Finals to be held in April. As far as it stands now, Cedar’s Youth wrestlers are looking pretty good. Allexis Gonzales took the top spot of any Cedar Springs wrestler with a runner-up finish in her weight class. Landon Demorest took home a 3rd place. Ryan Ringler, Jordan Ringler and George Gonzales Jr. all took 4th in their weight classes. Gage Gardner rounded out the bunch with a 6th place finish.

Keep your eyes “Posted” as your youth continue to heat it up on the mat.
