George Allen Arnold

Mr. George Allen Arnold, age 76, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 10, 2012. He was born in Big Rapids Michigan to Ralph and Julia (Robertson) Arnold. George was a very proud veteran who served his country in the US Air Force. He worked as an insurance inspector for Commercial Services, retiring after 20 years. George was a member of the Glen Hill Post #287 American Legion in Cedar Springs. He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn (nee Helsel) whom he married on August 4, 1958; children, Deanna and Les Baird, Dennis and Brenda Arnold, Kristina and David Tappen; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jessie Curtis, Connie and Howard McCormick, Milton and Lois Arnold, Tom and Karen Arnold, Joanne and Bud Thompson, and Carol and Jim O’Hara; sister-in-law, Jean Arnold; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Julia (Robertson) Arnold, brother, Lyle Arnold, and brother-in-law, Lawrence Curtis. The Memorial Service for Mr. Arnold wasTuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Solon Center Wesleyan Church, 15671 Algoma Avenue, Cedar Springs, with Pastor Tom Holloway officiating. Military honors will be under the auspices of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard with interment in Solon Township Cemetery. A gathering with family and friends was held following the service.
