Catch of the Week

Jordan Ringler, age 13 years, from Cedar Springs, was featured in our paper earlier this summer with two big catches in July—a 29-inch pike and a 25-inch Walleye. He reeled in another one off Bills Lake just a few day later—this 30-inch pike, caught during the evening of July 27.

According to Jane Ringler, Jordan’s mom, Jordan had dreamed of catching a pike since he was preschool age. She said he considered pike a tough fish and a prize to catch. But, he never seemed to be able to get one inside the boat. They would always fight their way off or break the line, leading to some frustrating fishing days. But this summer he had the privilege of reeling in two really nice pike. “He’s always been a true sportsman, but the fish he has been able to catch this season have given him a whole new meaning for the love of fishing,” she said.

Congratulations, Jordan, you made the Post Catch of the Week!
