Richard “Dick” E. Bell

Mr. Richard “Dick” E. Bell, age 79, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday, September 7, 2012. He served his country for four years during the Korean War. For 20 years, Richard was employed with the US Postal Service as a mail carrier in the NE Grand Rapids area. He was a member of Rockford Springs Community Church as well as a member of the VFW and American Legion. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor; children, Janice (Clarence) Staley, Beth (Tom) High, Kristina (Glenn) Swanson; grandchildren, Joe, Andrea, Allison, Staley, Jennifer and Spencer High, Sara and Nick Swanson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Betty Bell. The celebration service for Dick was held 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Rockford Springs Community Church, 5815 14 Mile Road Northeast, Rockford, Michigan 49341, with Pastor David Vander Meer officiating. Military honors will be under the auspices of the United States Air Force. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Rockford Springs Community Church or the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
