Wayland scored the first touchdown of the game, on a 2-yard run by Michael Schaendorf, with 3:57 left in the first quarter. The kick by Alan Roberts was good, making the score 7-0 Wayland.
The Red Hawks took over the game in the second quarter. Dylan Block ran 3-yards into the end zone, with 3:08 left, and they scored again when Allen Slagter took a nine-yard pass from quarterback Cam Cooper in the final minute of the quarter. Extra points were no good, and the half ended with a score of 12-7 Red Hawks.
The Red Hawks scored again in the third with 3:34 left on the clock, on a 30-yard yard run by Dylan Block, and Allen Slagter ran in 2 points. Wayland’s Mike Miklusicak scored the Wildcats’ last touchdown of the night—a 60-yard run—with just 27 seconds left in the quarter, making the score 20-14 Cedar Springs.
The Red Hawks continued their touchdown streak in the fourth quarter, with a 13-yard run by Cameron Cooper early in the period. With just six minutes to go, Allen Slagter scored on a pass from QB Cameron Cooper, and then Cameron Klompstra scored the final touchdown with a 32-yard run and just under two minutes left, ending the game 40-12, Cedar Springs.
Leading the Red Hawks in rushing yards were Dylan Block with 100 yards and Cameron klompstra with 73 yards. Dylan Block led the team in pass receptions, with 58 yards, and Allen Slagter with 33 yards. On defense, the Red Hawks were led by Allen Slagter, with a total of 11 tackles and 4 assists, Jason Vietti 9 tackles and 2 assists and Cody Anes and Jared Vodry Each had 6 tackles. Also helping on defense were Cameron Lotter and Cameron Link, both with interceptions.
