Out of the attic

Here are two photos of different eras in Cedar Springs. One looks to be from the early 1900s (with the Model As), and the other from the 1930s. According to “The Cedar Springs Story” by Sue Harrison and the late Donna DeJonge, Kroger came to Cedar Springs in 1932. How many buildings can you recognize?

These photos were donated to the Post by Loretta Sweitzer Lewis, who lived in the area all of her life. Her father, Jasper Sweitzer, was reportedly a preacher in Sand Lake. Thanks go out to Loretta’s daughter, Jayne Lewis, for dropping off these and other old Cedar Springs postcards!
