UPDATE: Consumers Energy reported the power came back on at about 2:40. Winds reportedly blew some tree branches into a primary wire, which caused the outage.
UPDATE: Consumers Energy estimates restoration should be about 3:30 p.m.
The Cedar Springs area has been hit with a power outage in the middle of a heat advisory.
Consumers Energy reported that the power went out at 1:25 p.m. for about 500 customers in the Cedar Springs area. They don’t yet know the cause, or have an estimated restoration time.
