Jason Gingrich, a 2012 Cedar Spring High School graduate, has signed to play basketball for the Tigers of Grace Bible College next season.
Gingrich, a 6-foot guard, was named to the All Conference team in the tough OK Blue Conference and was named to the 2nd team All Northern Area. Jason averaged 10ppg, 3 apg, and 3 rpg his senior season.
“Jason has been coming to our open gyms the last few summers and working on his game. He knows quite a few of the players already and will fit in well next season. We are looking forward to Jason’s progress at this level,” said Grace Head Coach Gary Bailey.
Gingrich joins a program at Grace that has won five national championships, including the last four in a row. The Tigers are coming off a 25-10 season in 2011-12.
“What a great pleasure it was to coach Jason over the last two years,” said former Cedar Springs Basketball Head Coach Andy Secor. “Jason is an extremely coachable player, who was named a captain by his teammates. He started at point guard for us both as a junior and senior, and really improved his game over those two years. Jason has always been a good shooter and confident scorer, but this year I think he really improved his defensive game and ability to run our offense and get teammates the ball in scoring position. I am excited to see him continue to grow his game at the college level. I know that his passion, ability to listen, and work ethic will be valuable assets at Grace. He is walking into a great program where he will be well-coached and grow, not only as a player, but as a young man.”
Jason is an Honor Roll student and a member of the Rockford Reformed Church. He is the son of Gary and Elma Gingrich and has a brother Brett, and two sisters, Merri and Aubree.
