SS Badger, Detroit Lions & Griffins “Appear” at Library in Silent Auction

June 9: Everyone has a chance to bed on these items and more at the Nelson Township/ Sand Lake Library, 88 Eighth St,.  “Awesome” Silent Auction June 9th – 23rd. Items will be available to bidding in the library until June 23rd at 4 pm. Friends of the KDL Sand Lake/ Nelson Township Library will use proceeds to support literary programs, youth equipment and building expenses. #23

 

Benefit for Bryan Chiaramonte 

June 9: Family and friends are holding a benefit to help raise money for Bryan and his family. Bryan has been diagnosed with Giant Cell Myocarditis and had a heart transplant on March 7th. The benefit is Sat. June 9th at 5:30 pm at the St. Peter and Paul Gym, 1433 Hamilton NW, Grand Rapids. Admission is a Free Will Donation. Everyone is invited! Allen Durham @ Solon Center Wesleyan Church

June 10: Professional basketball player and three time NCCAA National Champion, Allen Durham will visit SCWC on June 10th at 10 am. Allen, affectionately know ad AD24 will give his testimony and share some basketball skills with the children in Children’s church. In addition to three national championships, Allen was the all time leading scorer and rebounder at Grace Bible College, three time NCCAA All-American, three time NCCAA National Championship MVP, tow time Player of the Year, 2011 NCCAA Maravich award winner and 2011-12 FIBA-Europe League leading rebounder and scorer. Children’s church is for kids Kindergarten through 5th grades. The church is located at 15671 Algoma Avenue, just north of 19 Mile Rd. All welcome!  #23b

 

CSPS 50 Plus Reunion

June 11: If you graduated in 1962 or earlier from Cedar Springs Public Schools you are invited to join the 50 Plus Reunion on Monday June 11 from 11 am – 3 pm at the Cedar Springs High School Cafeteria on E. Muskegon. The cost is $15 per person. #23

June 11: Monday, June 11, 12 – 6 pm. Huge Book Sale by the Friends of the Cedar Springs Library to raise funds for a new library! Help make up the last $29,000 of our $50,000 Match/Challenge by buying your favorite books on sale outside on library grounds. Vacation Bible School @ Solon Center Wesleyan Church

June 11: Hey kids, come June 11-15th from 6:30 – 8:30pm for VBS at Solon Center Wesleyan Church. It’s “Sky, Everything is Possible with God,” where you’ll sing songs, make crafts, have snacks, hear great Bible stories and make new friends! VBS is for children 4 years old through the 5th grade. Friday night is “Family Night” around the campfire when the whole family can enjoy s’mores. Preregister by calling the church office @61-696-3229 or online at soloncenterwesleyanchurch.org. Flag and Rocket Cheer Sign ups

June 12: Flag and Rocket Cheer Sign ups are being taken now!  Sign up at Shaner Avenue Ball fields on Tuesday, June 12th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.   Look for our booth by the concession stand!  Also taking sign ups for Rocket Cheer Camp on Saturday, June 23rd for grades K thru 8th grade. Can also download forms and information on our website www.cedarspringsyouthcheerleading.com and mail in registrations. CSCP musical “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” opens in June

June 14: The ever-popular fairy tale “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” will be brought to life on the stage of the Kent Theatre, so plan on attending this summer’s fun musical brought to you by the Cedar Springs Community Players. Performances are Thursday through Saturday, June 14-16 and June 21-23. Tickets are $10 in advance; $12 at the door; $6 for kids 17 and under and are available at the Cedar Springs Public Library, from any cast member or by calling 616-696-0527.  #22,23p

 

Recycle That!

June 17: Learn a new craft for teaching our younger children how to recycle – we will be using recycled items to teach and create a craft. Join us in making a “Fossil” – Dinosaur rendition. Ages K – 5th grade. Sunday, June 17th from 1 pm – 3 pm with a donation of $5 per child. Howard Christensen Nature Center, 16190 Red Pine Drive, Kent City. Roast Beef Dinner

June 17: The Rockford Veterans of Foreign Wars at 4195 -13 Mile Rd. will host a roast beef dinner on the third Sunday of the month, June 17th. Adults $9 and Children $3.50. The Best Dinner in Town is prepared by our chef Fred Chambers. Take outs and deliveries are available. For deliveries call 616-866-2675 by 11:30 am the day of the dinner. #23

 

Moses, Man of Faith

June 18-22: Daily Vacation Bible School at the Church of the Full Gospel, 180 E. Lake St., Sand Lake will be held June 18 – 22 from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Come and learn about the life and ministry of  Moses, an amazing Old Testament Man of God. Music, stories, notebooks for older students, crafts for the younger ones, snacks, fun and fellowship, and happy times. Ages 4 – Sr. High. Program on June 22 at 7 pm. Coral Days Festival

June 23: Come join the fun! Coral Days Festival on Sat. June 23. Start your day with a free Pancake Breakfast at Cowden Lake Bible Academy, the Parade at 11 am, enjoy a Chicken Barbecue Dinner by Maple Valley Firemen, see the Bucket Brigade at 2 pm, the Soapbox Derby at 3 pm and the Gordon Russ Magic Show at 4 pm. A Time Capsule will be opened at 5 pm. Hear great music by “Stolen Horses” from 7 to9 pm and finish our day with the Light Parade at dusk.  #23-25p
