Participate in the Red Flannel Festival Queen Scholarship Pageant

Now-June 11: Be a part of the Red Flannel Festival history, learn great interviewing skills, and earn potential scholarship money, by participating in the Red Flannel Festival Queen Scholarship Pageant event!  Sign-up now through June 11, 2012, by calling Pageant Director, Cindy Patin, at (616) 696-6121.  The pageant is open to any junior girls (in the 2012-2013 school year), residing in the Cedar Springs school district, with a GPA of 3.0.  A parent information meeting will be held June 11, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. at the Red Flannel Festival Office, at 21 E. Maple Street, in Cedar Springs. #22b

 

Cedar Springs Youth Football registration

Now: Cedar Springs Youth Football is currently accepting registrations for the 2012 flag and rocket football seasons. Flag football registration is $30 and includes a shirt. Rocket football registration is $50 and includes jersey and practice pants. Go to our web site for times and locations of sign ups or to print the forms yourself and mail them in. Flag and Rocket Cheer Sign ups

June 5: Flag and Rocket Cheer Sign ups are being taken now!  Sign up at Shaner Avenue Ball fields on Tuesdays   June 5th and June 12th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.   Look for our booth by the concession stand!  Also taking sign ups for Rocket Cheer Camp on Saturday, June 23rd for grades K thru 8th grade. Can also download forms and information on our website www.cedarspringsyouthcheerleading.com and mail in registrations. Carlee’s Carnival – benefit & auction

June 2: Come to a day of food, fun, and games at the Solon Center Wesleyan Church, 15671 Algoma NE, Cedar Springs, on Saturday, June 2 12-4pm. Carlee Jones, of Howard City, was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. She has had several heart surgeries in her young life and is getting ready for one more on June 13, 2012 at Mott’s Children’s hospital in Ann Arbor. All proceeds will go to Carlee’s parents, Jason & Amanda Jones, to help offset the many expenses incurred due to the surgery and time off work to be with their daughter. #22

 

Dinner at the Legion

June 4: American Legion, 80 Main St. Cedar Springs, is hosting a Roast Beef & Onions dinner on Monday, June 4, from 5 – 7 pm. Includes mashed potatoes & gravy, baked beans, veggies, roll, dessert and drink. All dinners are $9, children $4. Take out is available. #22p

 

Vacation Bible School @ Solon Center Wesleyan Church

June 11: Hey kids, come June 11-15th from 6:30 – 8:30 PM for VBS at Solon Center Wesleyan Church.  It’s “Sky Everything is Possible with God”, where you’ll sing songs, make crafts, have snacks, hear great Bible stories and make new friends!  VBS is for children 4 years old through the 5th grade.  Friday night is “Family Night” around the campfire when the whole family can enjoy s’mores.  Preregister by calling the church office @ 696-3229 or online at soloncenterwesleyanchurch.org.  The church is located at 15671 Algoma Avenue, just north of 19 Mile Road. #22,23

 

CSCP musical “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” opens in June

June 14: The ever-popular fairy tale “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” will be brought to life on the stage of the Kent Theatre, so plan on attending this summer’s fun musical brought to you by the Cedar Springs Community Players. Performances are Thursday through Saturday, June 14-16 and June 21-23. Tickets are $10 in advance; $12 at the door; $6 for kids 17 and under and are available at the Cedar Springs Public Library, from any cast member, or by calling 616-696-0527.
