20th Anniversary Pancake Breakfast

Mar. 24:  The Courtland Township Fire Department, 7480 – 14 Mile Rd., will have its 20th Anniversary Pancake Breakfast on Saturday March 24 from 8 am to 11. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, coffee, orange juice or milk. Donations accepted. Proceeds to benefit the Courtland Fire Department.  #11,12p

 

TOPS weight loss support group

Mar. 27: Take off pounds sensibly (TOPS), a non-profit weight loss sport group for men and women, meets every Tuesday at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Sand Lake. Your first visit is free so come check out what TOPS can do to help you reach your weight loss goals! Exercise 8-8:30am (optional), weigh-ins from 8:30am–9am and the meeting starts at 9:15am. In case of inclemeent weather, meetings are cancelled if Tri-County or Cedar Sporings schools are closed. Call Martha at 696-1039 for more information. #4

 

McTeacher’s Night

Mar. 27: McDonald’s in Cedar Springs is generously donating 15% of their total sales to CSHS Senior All Night Party 2012 to help students have a safe and fun environment on their graduation night. Tuesday, March 27 from 4 – 7 pm. You eat and the kids earn. #12

Solon Center Wesleyan Church offers Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University

Mar. 28: Financial Peace University is a life-changing program on personal finance. It is designed to teach families how to get out of debt, stay out of debt and build wealth. All material is biblically based and taught via entertaining video by New York Times best-selling author Dave Ramsey.  An informational meeting will be held Wednesday, March 28th @ 6:30 pm and classes will begin Wednesday, April 11th @ 6:00 pm.  The cost is $89 for the FPU kit and includes lifetime membership to FPU and their resources.  Please call the church office to register and order your kit at 616-696-3229.  The church is located at 15671 Algoma Ave. in Cedar Springs, just N. of 19 Mile Road. #12

Vietnam Veterans Meeting

Mar. 31: A Vietnam Veterans meeting is taking place at 1 pm on Saturday March 31 at the American Legion’s Club House in Cedar Springs. Under discussion will be a Memorial Monument and fund raising.  #11,12p

 

Explore the Mitten

Mar. 31: Sunsets. Lakes. Wildlife. Lighthouses. Sand Dunes. Snowflakes. Sand Lake/ Nelson Township Library, 88 Eighth St. Sand Lake, is where you can explore what makes the Great Lakes state great! This family program will offer a roomful of fun activity stations including windmill and lighthouse crafts, a scavenger hunt, a Michigan teams tabletop game and much more. Free Wild Game Dinner

The speaker is an experienced well-traveled hunter who will be coming with his trophies. Bring a wild game dish to pass if possible. Easter Egg Hunt

Mar. 31: Ages 2 -11. Celebrate the holiday by bringing your children to our Easter egg hunt and for a visit with the Easter Frog. This is a free event. To help ensure a safe and happy event, children will be separated into smaller groups (ages 2 to 3, 4 to 5 and 6 to 9 years). Baskets from home are welcome and we will also have bags available in the case of bad weather, please check the status of the event by calling 616-675-3158. Apr. 19: Make plans now to attend the 26th annual Cedar Springs Community Night Thursday, April 19, at the Cedar Springs High School from 6 to 8:30 pm. The event is designed to showcase the school, businesses and organizations in and around the area. Admission is free for the general public.
