Girl wrestlers make national team

In the beginning of February, Team Michigan had try-outs for the Team Michigan Girls National Team. Reese and Allexis Gonzales from the Cedar Springs Youth Wrestling Club both made the elementary team and have been competing now in “girl only” tournaments.

February 19, 2012 Reese and Allexis travelled with their team to compete at the “War of the Roses” Girls National Dual Team Tournament held in Constantine, MI. Reese was “Outstanding Wrestler” in her weight class as she went 5-0, pinning all of her opponents. Allexis was also “Outstanding Wrestler” in her weight class as she went 4-0, pinning all of her opponents. Team Michigan also dominated the dual, taking first over Ohio. Watch for more results as they continue to compete locally and with their national team.
