Police say a 47-year-old Rockford man may have been intoxicated when he crossed the centerline of Northland Drive, Thursday evening, January 5, causing a three-car accident.
The Kent County Sheriff Department said that the man was driving a pickup northbound on Northland Drive near the intersection of 19 Mile Road in Nelson Township about 7:38 p.m., when he crossed the centerline and struck a southbound vehicle driven by 48-year-old Martin Doran, of Cedar Springs. Doran’s vehicle was then struck again by another northbound car driven by Kacie White, 30, of Cedar Springs.
Doran was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, and White was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The at-fault driver was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. It is believed alcohol was a factor in the accident. Charges against the at-fault driver are pending.
Sand Lake Fire and Rescue and Cedar Springs Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
