Gown fundraiser to benefit library

Do you have a prom dress you’d like to donate for the upcoming gown fundraiser to benefit the library? The gown fundraising committee needs you to drop it off as soon as possible at Cedar Springs City Hall.

Would you like to help the Cedar Springs Library get closer to the $50,000 matching grant for the building fund? Drop off a gently-used prom dress or gown at Cedar Springs City Hall and get a tax receipt of $100 for a long gown, and $50 for a short one.  And better yet, if you have a daughter that needs a dress for Swirl or prom, bring her to the sale, on January 7, at the Cedar Springs High School media center, from 8 a.m. to noon. Short dresses will be $20 each, and long gowns $35 each. Proceeds from the sale will go towards the library’s matching grant.
According to Library Director Donna Clark, they have collected $7,000 so far toward the grant, and have $43,000 more to go. The fundraising committee has met three times, and there are several fundraisers coming up, including a hockey game, a spa fundraiser, a coffee and tea fundraiser, and Big Boy has offered to have an ongoing fundraising meal every other month this year.
If you have questions on the gown fundraiser, please call Christine Burns at (616-788-8945 ) or Linda Lehman (616-970-1368).
