School bus destroyed in crash

A driver ran a stop sign at Courtland and 12 Mile Road last week and crashed into a Rockford Public Schools bus.
Roger Huard, 57, of Rockford, was driving a 2010 Ford Flex north on Courtland drive about 7:25 a.m. October 6, when he ran the stop sign at 12 Mile Road, and collided with a Rockford School bus traveling west on 12 Mile Road.
The bus ran off the road to the right and struck a tree and then overturned. There were no students on the bus at the time. The bus driver, Connell Traxler, 24, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Spectrum Butterworth by
Rockford ambulance.
The driver of the Ford Flex was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries. He was issued a citation for careless driving.
