Virtual travel adventure

Are you looking for a night of entertainment at a low cost? Do you like to travel and find it hard these days? Come and hear from world traveler Marlin Darrah on Monday, October 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the Cedar Springs High School Auditorium. He will take you on a journey through Southern Europe that will make you feel like you have made the trip. The Cedar Springs Area Parks and Recreation Department is working to bring you a multimedia presentation of Paris, Cannes, Spain, Croatia, Greece, and Istanbul. This Virtual Travel Adventure will show you things via your own personal tour guide and will be exciting to see as it is created with HD cinematography and filled with music.
The trip of Southern Europe will takes you through the country of France with visits in Paris and Cannes, before moving on to Barcelona in Spain and other cities. These stops will include visits to art galleries and historic landmarks. The countries of Croatia and Greece will show you some of the ports and the beautiful aspects of the seas that neighbor the countries. The journey finishes in the sourthern most part of Europe and part of Asia, Istanbul, Turkey.  This city has over 1500 years of history and you will see many aspects of it.
Other travels this season will take us through Yellowstone National Park on  November 14, we will be heading back over the Atlantic in March as we visit Egypt and tour the Nile River on March 12, and we will finish our travels with heading north in Europe to the lands of Scotland and France to see the glorious stone buidlings of churches, castles, monuments and more on the 9th of April. You can travel to all four of these destinations for the little price of $25, or just one locale for $10. Students can come with a paid adult for only $5. These are great educational events for persons of all ages and great for families to come and enjoy together.
There is an intermission during the travel adventure that will include snacks and beverages for the traveling attendees. The event is held at the Cedar Springs High School Auditorium with the doors opening at 6 pm and the adventure beginning at 6:30 pm (please note the new time for this year).
The Cedar Springs Area Parks and Recreation department is an organziation of Algoma, Courtland, Nelson and Solon Townships, the Cedar Springs Public Schools and the City of Cedar Springs.
