Teen injured in wrong-way crash

Two 16-year-old boys were injured in a car crash Maple Valley Township in Montcalm County Sunday while driving on the wrong side of the road.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Post in Lakeview investigated the serious personal injury crash on Sunday, September 11,  at about 3:01 p.m. Police said the 16-year-old male driver was driving a Toyota pickup westbound in the eastbound lane of Coral Road, near Black Road, and collided with a Chrysler 300M traveling eastbound. The driver of the Toyota and his 16-year-old passenger were both injured in the crash. One of them was taken by Aero Med to Grand Rapids for treatment. The 52-year-old female driver of the Chrysler was transported to Butterworth for treatment.
At least two of the injured were wearing seatbelts, and alcohol is not believed to be involved.
Assisting at the scene was Maple Valley Township Rescue/Fire and Montcalm County EMS.
