Girls golf team improving

It was a busy week last week  for the Cedar Springs Girl’s Varsity Golf team as they completed in 3 Ok Blue Jamborees at Cedar Chase, The Highlands, and Ridgeview. At Cedar Chase the girls fired a 234 and finished in 6th place. Leading the way for the Red Hawks was Conner White with a 52, Breanna White 60, Taylor Rish 60 and Chelsea Hull 62.  At the Highlands, the girls shot a 233 and finished 7th. Chelsea Hull led the way with a 56, Conner White 57, Breanna White 59, Jessica Ingerson 61, and in her first ever match Jessica Blacker 67.

“It is early in the season,” said Conner White.  “We really need to work on chipping and putting.”

The final match saw some much needed improvement as the Red Hawks shot a 211 and finished in 5th. Nicole Shevock was medalist with a 47, Conner White 51, Jessica Ingerson 54, and Breanna White 59.

“We are a young and relatively inexperienced team,” said team captain Nicole Shevock.  “We will work hard at getting better this season.”
