Can you beat this sunflower?

Jeffrey Kelly, of Solon Township, sent us photos of a quite a tall sunflower growing in his yard. It reached a height of 11 feet 11 inches!

Kelly said he doesn’t do anything special to get such tall flowers. “I grow the flowers as part of my garden. I keep the seeds of unusual flowers, size or color. Other than that little bit of hybridization—nothing! No fertilizer, nothing other than seeds,” he explained.

Do you have photos of your sunflowers you’d like to send us? Send them to news@cedarspringspost.com with some info about yourself and the sunflowers.
