Lazy days of summer

Lazy days of summer

We’ve been through some hot and humid weather in the last couple of weeks, and the mild, breezy weather we’re having now is sure a relief! It appears, from the photo below, that we are not the only ones affected by hot weather.
Tom Parker, of Cedar Springs, sent us this photo taken last Saturday, of one of his backyard friends taking a break from the summer heat after a meal of corn and sunflower seeds. Ah, the lazy days of summer!

Awwwww, can I just say I’ve taken up feeding the birds and squirrels. I feel guilty if I do not keep them plenty of food…So now I am going through more than 50 pounds of bird feed and about 6 ears of feed corn a day.

Birds are pretty funny, they seem to be actually tossing seed off the bird feeder onto the ground for the birds feeding on the ground.

Smart birds, or delusional human? Could go either way buying 50 pounds plus seed each week!
