Sparta Town & Country Days

If you are looking for some great family fun, a trip to Sparta Town and Country Days just might be the ticket. The annual fair will be held July 13-17 in various locations around Sparta.
Sparta may be a small town, but it has lots of events to choose from, including two new events—a soap box derby and duct tape contest. Other events include carnival rides, a community pig roast, sidewalk sales, a watermelon eating contest, banana split eating contest, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, football toss, pony rides, parade, pet expo, beer tent, music, lawn mower races and much more! • 1 pm: USLMRA National Lawn Mower Races at the Sparta Airport (entrance on Division) Racing rain or shine. Admission $5.00 per person over age 12. Pit pass $5.00 www.letsmow.com
• 10:15 pm: FIREWORKS. Fireworks launched from Ridgeview. Enter at 12 Mile ONLY. VIP Spectator parking is available at the High School for a $5 donation per car.
