Man wanted in seven slayings

UPDATE: The suspect has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a police chase and standoff situation with hostages in Grand Rapids that lasted several hours.

At press time Thursday evening, the Grand Rapids Police Department were looking for Rodrick Shonte Dantzler, 34, a suspect in the slayings of 7 people in northeast Grand Rapids Thursday.

He is described as 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, and may have longer hair than shown here. He may be driving a tan, four-door, Lincoln Town Car. He was recently released from prison and is considered armed and dangerous.

Four bodies were found in a home in the 1200 block of Brynell NE, three of them women. Three more bodies were found in the 2000 block of Plainfield, one of them a child. All were shot.
