Lewis G. John, aged 84, of Cedar Springs, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2011. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew; and 3 brothers. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 30 years, Jacqueline; children, Katherine, Grace and Dan Madison; stepchildren Joseph Duba, Julie and Deane Ledsworth, Jennifer and Kevin Scanlan, Jerry Duba, Jane and David Hoekzema; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Edward. Lewis proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was the past commander of the American Legion Post #287 of Cedar Springs, as well as the V.F.W. post of Sand Lake.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 on Tuesday at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, 3000 Monroe Ave NE with visitation one hour prior to the service.   Memorial contributions may be made to the G.R.
