Geannette M. Waid

Mrs. Geannette M. Waid, age 86, of Cedar Springs, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 14, 2011, at her home. She was born in Algoma Twp. where her parents farmed. She helped where she could as she grew up but mostly in the family home. Geannette was a stay-at-home wife and mother until her children were older and then she worked at WWW as a keypunch operator, Steve Hicks Lincoln Mercury, and Mich-Con. Being raised with a great work ethic, she and her husband purchased investment property and remodeled it and kept it as income property. She was frugal and was self taught.  Geannette was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Waid on February 2, 2000, her daughter, Joanne K. Rosenberger and her husband, Jack;   and her brothers and sister, Harry Pinckney, Donald Pinckney, Harvey Pinckney, Garvey Pinckney, and Veleda Deem. She is survived by her loving son, Gary; her sisters, Mrs. Velma Longcore and Mrs. Lois Houghton; nieces and nephews.  At her request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday morning, June 24, 2011, at 11:00 o’clock at the Pederson Funeral Home, Rockford, with Pastor Kevin Reed, officiating. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Spectrum Health Hospice, 4500 Breton Avenue, SE, Grand Rapids, MI  48508.   Family and friends may meet with Mrs. Waid family at the funeral home from  10 AM  until the time of service.
