Lorraine I. Stout

Lorraine I. Stout, 92 of Tucson, AZ died Monday, May 9, 2011.  Lorraine was born January 31, 1919 in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of John and May Jones.  She worked in Respiratory Therapy at United Memorial Hospital in Greenville, MI, and then retired to Tucson, AZ.  She was married for 50 years to the late Lewis L. Stout.  In 1994 she married John Palonis of Tucson, AZ.  They enjoyed a wonderful life together until his death in 2007.  Lorraine loved her country and flew “Old Glory” proudly every day.  She enjoyed her Tuesday morning breakfast club, her Red Hat lunches, her afternoon Budweiser on the porch, daily trips to Target “just to look around,” and her independence which was so important to her.  Lorraine was a positive role model of love, humor, strength and independence for anyone who had the honor to have known her.  She was gifted in memorizing poems and reciting them, which was enjoyed by her friends at Rincon Country West RV Park. Surviving are her children Ron (Pam) Stout of Cedar Springs, MI; Diane (Laurie) Burns of Baton Rouge, LA; Son-in-law Fred Zimmerman of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren Kelly (Bill) Chizmar, Comstock Park, MI; Tracy (Dennis) Pitts, Tucson, AZ; Karen Stout, Eagle River, AK; Kimberly (Todd) Perry, Grand Forks AFB, ND; great-grandchildren JC Dean, Kelsey Chizmar, Adrianna Pitts, Benjamin Chizmar, Sierra Perry, Kamryn Perry; brother Harry (Thelma) Jones, Cedar Springs, MI.  She was predeceased by daughter Janice Stout Zimmerman.  In accordance with Lorraine’s wishes, no service is planned.  Memorial contributions may be made to Carondelet Hospice, 1802 W. St. Marys Rd, Tucson, AZ 85745
