Pilgrim Bible teams compete at state

Last week Pilgrim Bible Academy traveled to Adrian College to compete in state competition.
Pilgrim’s basketball team played great basketball all week and made it to the state championship game, where they fell to Faith Christian 45-29. They were led by team captains junior Matt Metz and seniors Josh Cole and Jordan Price. After winning their first two games, they had to come back in the loser bracket to make it to the state championship game.
Coach Don Slocum said he couldn’t be happier. “The boys played hard. No one thought we could do it with just six boys on the team. So proud of you all!” he said.
Also placing at the state in girls track in the 200 meter run was Emma Bishop, 4th place, and Erin Brecken, 5th place.
Now all of them qualify for national competition, which will be held at James Madison University in Virginia.
