Sand Lake United Methodist Church Rummage Sale

Roast Beef Dinner at Rockford VFW

TOPS, weight loss support group

May 17: Take off pounds sensibly (TOPS), a non-profit weight loss support group, meets every Tuesday at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Sand Lake. Your first visit is free so come check out what TOPS can do to help you reach your weight loss goals! Exercise 8-8:30am (optional), weigh-ins from 8:30am – 9am and the meeting starts at 9:15am. Spaghetti Dinner Benefit

May 21: A spaghetti dinner benefit will be held for Norm Hershberger who has bladder cancer, on Saturday May 21 from 4 – 8 pm, at the VFW in Sand Lake. Adults, $6, Children under 12, $3. There will be a 50/50 drawing, bake sale and an auction will start at 6 pm.  #18-20p

Cedar Springs Rocket and Flag Football

May 17: If you have a son or daughter ages 4-7 interested in playing football this year we have flag football starting in July. Cost is $25 and includes a team t-shirt. Rocket (tackle) football is for ages 8-14 and begins in August. Cost is $50. Sign-ups for both programs begin May 17 at Skinner Field. Fall 2011 Soccer Registration

May 21 & June 4:– American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Don’t miss registration for the 2011-12 Membership Year at Boomer Park – 13440 Ritchie Avenue south of 17 Mile Road, 9am to 1pm. Complete the Pre-Registration Application online and use the registration Express Lane when you arrive– see details at our website:  www.ayso902.org The registration fee is $50 per child, per season (fall & spring) with a $15 discount if you register for both seasons now. Families registering 3 or more players will receive an additional discount of $5 per player, per season. Registering players from age 4 to 14. Cedar Springs Area Home School Cooperative – Informational meeting

May 23: The Legacy Homeschool Cooperative will hold a informational meeting on Monday, May 23 from 7-9pm at Alpha Omega Coffee, 32 S. Main St., Cedar Springs (east side next to Farmers Insurance). Group shall meet in Northern Kent County with location to be announced. Weekly classes for ages infant – 12th grade. Parent taught cooperative with minimal costs. Memorial Day program

May 30: The American Legion Glen Hill Post #287 will hold their annual Memorial Day program on May 30, with Michigan Representative Peter MacGregor as guest speaker. They will be at Elmwood Cemetery at 9am, Solon Cemetery at 10am, East Nelson Cemetery at 10:45am, and Veterans Memorial Park (in Cedar Springs) at 11:30am. There will be no program at the senior center this year. In case of bad weather, services will be held in the American Legion Hall at 9am.
