Lady Red Hawks lose two

Red Hawk Tiffany Karger led scoring in two games last week, scoring 14 points against West Ottawa, and 8 against Forest Hills Northern.

Cedar Springs Varsity Girls traveled to Holland on Monday February 15, for their last non-conference game against West Ottawa. The game was fast paced and had 4 lead changes and the teams were tied twice. The Hawks ended the first quarter behind by two points, 13-11 but came back to finish the half 21 to 17. The Panthers came back to out score the Hawks 8 to 15 and ended the 3rd quarter with Cedar trailing 32-29. In the fourth quarter, Cedar regained the lead but West Ottawa fought back and out scored the Hawks 5 to 10 and ended the game West Ottawa 42, Cedar Springs 34.

Leading scorer was Tiffany Karger with 14 points and 7 rebounds, Rachael Ludtke with 10 points and 9 rebounds, Hannah Wight had 4 points and 4 rebounds, Molly Holtrop with 2 points and 2 rebounds, Amber Milligan had 2 points and 3 rebounds, Lindsey Kline with 2 points and 1 rebound, Chaya Coxon with 4 rebounds and Meghan Andres with 1 rebound.

The Red Hawks then traveled to Forest Hills Northern on Friday, February 18 to take on the Huskies. The Red Hawks led by one point at the end of the first quarter, 8-7, but the Huskies outscored them in every succeeding quarter. Cedar trailed 15-10 at the end of the second quarter, 25-15 at the end of the third, and finished up the game with a 37-26 loss to FHN.

Tiffany Karger led in scoring with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Rachael Ludktke scored 6 points and 6 rebounds, and Molly Holtrop scored 6 points and had one rebound. Also scoring was Hannah Wight with 4 points and 2 rebounds, and Chaya Coxon with 2 points and 3 rebounds.
