A new year has dawned on this great country of ours.  As we look back and see where we have come from and what we have gone though in 2010, we can be very thankful God walks with His children.
That brings me to the question I want to ask you today, “Are you a child of God?”
I don’t mean a church attendee, the one who goes every week to sing a hymn and listen to a message and then walks out and goes on with everyday life. I mean someone who knows Jesus is the Son of God and who is in love with Him and wants the whole world to know who He is and what He has done for mankind.
Jesus said, in Luke 19:10, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” That would be you and I.  You see, I am a sinner as well as you. Romans 3:23 says…“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” So we are all in need of forgiveness. We find forgiveness in Jesus Christ.  1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” We know that we are all sinners and we need forgiveness and we find that in Jesus Christ. Romans puts it beautifully in 10:9-10, “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” So are you a child of God?
A new year has come, no more excuses. Jesus put it in Luke 19:9, “Today salvation has come to this house…” Will salvation come to your house today? Open your heart and do what it says in Romans 10:13, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
