Goodwill coming to Cedar Springs

storage buildingThe old storage units on 17 Mile Rd and Edgerton, across from Meijer, in Solon Township, were torn down last week to make way for a Goodwill store. Construction has already begun on the site. Goodwill says this new, 7,000 square foot store will offer a clean, well organized shopping experience to residents in the surrounding area. There will also be a convenient donation drive through on the east side of the store. They hope to have the store ready for opening in early 2011.

The Goodwill store will be open Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They will collect gently used donations from area residents, selling local donations of clothing, household goods and many other items at value added prices. The store will employ up to 15 people, providing employment/training opportunities for those interested in working for Goodwill.

Ninety percent of the revenue generated from the sale of donated goods at Goodwill’s retail stores is channeled back into its mission of helping people train for, find and keep good jobs. You can visit their our website at www.goodwill.org.
