Crash sends two to hospital

An early morning rollover on 16 Mile west of Harvard last weekend sent two men to the hospital.

According to the Kent County Sheriff Department, Nicholas Ronald Vietti, 22, of Wheeler, Michigan, was traveling eastbound on 16 Mile Road, about a half mile west of Harvard Avenue, on Sunday, November 7, when he lost control  going into a curve on the roadway about 6:05 a.m.  His 1998 Blazer then left the roadway on the north side of the road, struck a tree and rolled.

The passenger, Alan James Headley, 24 of Greenville, was able to climb out of the vehicle, and was transported to Butterworth Hospital with a hip injury. Vietti was sent to Butterworth by AeroMed with multiple injuries.

Both Courtland and Oakfield Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
