Creative Technologies Academy is a Charter Public School Academy that includes a determined focus on Character Education in our curriculum. This year we began our school year with four days of Character Education activities and Ed Performance Testing. We found that it was a splendid way to start the school year. It gave teachers the opportunity to build relationships with students, students to build relationships with other students, and a time to emphasize rules/procedures and consistency in the classroom. Each grade wrote a Class Constitution, which gave all students a say in what behaviors they would like, and not like in their classrooms. Throughout the school year, we will be focusing on our six founding Character Traits: Kindness, Respect, Responsibility, Getting Along, Work Ethic and Optimism. Each month we are implementing one character trait school wide. In September we focused on Kindness. Students made a wall of kindness where they wrote down kind acts they observed by other students, and we implemented RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) WEEK.
Below is the High School Constitution and two Elementary School class constitutions.
