This year’s Kent Theatre Red Flannel Day Talent Show was again a great showcase of local talent that included the return of singer/songwriter Karli Morehouse, with singer Mason Knutson, and the gifted guitar/banjo player Calder Baker.
Jesse Ray Franks gave a solid performance with guitar and vocal, and so did local performer Nick Bonarski.
Emily Baker graced the stage at the Kent again this year and impressed everyone with her interpretive dance performances. Seira Kovach was back again and whipped up the crowd with her visually exciting Poi dance routines. Dancer Hanna Ringler also provided
Courtney King played the keyboard beautifully before the curtain rose and knocked out a beautiful classical/ragtime medley in the middle of the show. The King Family Trio, consisting of Courtney’s father Mike and brothers Arron and Brian, got the show rolling with a mix of classic country and gospel tunes. Guitar player/vocalist Ryan Kaiserlan accompanied the Trio and also entertained the audience with a solo.
Doing a great job singing individually were Debra Newlove, Aubree Dominica and Mackenzie Anderson. Also the trio of Madison Gibbons, Anna Gibbons, and Ashley Wise brightened the room with their act. The always entertaining performance artist Joe Brunette on keyboard and vocals was accompanied by the lovely vocalist Alicia Adams.
The Talent Show would not have been possible without the help of the volunteers, especially Jordan Sagorski handling the sound/lighting duties, Josh Allington and Shelby Klco as stage managers, and Austin Anderson as assistant stage manager.
