Jerky worth fighting for

Kelly’s Deer Processing of Big Rapids has been donating venison jerky to the troops for the past three years. They receive donations of the finest Whitetail Deer meat, and also receive donations of cash to help pay for processing, smoking, and shipping of the jerky. When all is ready, local veterans’ posts, families, supporting soldiers and even uniformed soldiers home on leave help to package Jerky for the Troops.

To date, over 2,000 one-half pound packages of jerky have been sent to our troops all over the world.

This year, Kelly’s is changing the rules to help families support soldiers even better. This year, you won’t need to wait until Christmas to send jerky to your soldier. Kelly’s will have Jerky for the Troops October 1 through January 1. The jerky will be in one-half pound packages and boxes for shipping will be on hand for you. Instead of waiting for donations to accumulate, Kelly’s will make the jerky available at their cost. Anyone looking to ship the tasty snack to a APO or FPO address will receive the military discount. Each half pound package is $5.50.

Kelly’s will have on hand 20 types for salami, jerky and sausages, but only one JerkyWorth Fighting For. Kelly’s Deer Processing is the largest supplier of venison for food pantries in the whole state of Michigan. They have helped provide over 120,000 pounds  of venison since 1991.
