Woman dies in crash

A Cedar Springs woman was killed last Wednesday morning when her vehicle and another vehicle hit each other head on.

Morris

According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department, Jari Morris, 56, was driving a 2007 Buick Lucerne east on Cannonsburg Road in Plainfield Township about 9 a.m. September 8, when she was hit head-on by a 2004 Dodge Durango traveling west on Cannonsburg near Chauncey Avenue.

Morris was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Durango, a 16-year-old male Rockford High School student, was transported to Butterworth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At press time, the police still had not made a determination on who crossed the centerline. According to Lt. Kevin Kelley, they were still analyzing the crash.

Services for Morris were held Monday, September 13, at Mary Queen of Apostles Church, Sand Lake.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of this woman. To lose someone in a car accident is so unexpected and if it was the result of someones stupidity, it just makes it worse. Anyway god bless you.
