Diner opens new ice cream/soda shoppe

Do you ever yearn for the days when there were old-fashioned soda shoppes? You now don’t have far to go. The Ice Cream Shoppe at Rosie’s Diner, located on 14 Mile, just west of Northland Dr., is having its grand opening this weekend.

Owner Jonelle Woods can boast to have the only place in the country with three original diner cars all together in one location. The Ice Cream Shoppe at Rosie’s Diner will offer timeless soda shop favorites like hand-dipped milkshakes, real malts, banana splits and towering sundaes, according to Woods, owner since 2006. They will also serve premium Michigan-made ice cream and soft-serve confections.

The three diners offer an array of entertainment and eats. One holds a sports bar, the other for food and a third for dessert. Patrons may then take up a healthy round of mini golf, also on site at the Rosie’s Diner Plaza. To check out all the action, be sure to be on site for their Grand opening celebration is Saturday and Sunday, September 18 and 19.
