The Timothy Brown Memorial was only up for five days before the dog tags that hung from it were stolen. It was installed on Saturday, August 28, at Veterans Park on the corner of Oak and Main Street, and the dog tags were stolen sometime on Wednesday, September 1.
The Post took photos of the memorial that morning, and the dog tags were intact. They were reported missing later that evening.
Anyone with information on who might have taken the tags should call the Cedar Springs Police at 696-1311. At least one person has offered a $50 reward for information leading to the apprehension of the person. Or, the dog tags can be brought into the Post, 36 E. Maple Street, no questions asked.
