Showing this week at the Kent Theatre in Cedar Springs is The Big Bad Musical. The Big Bad Musical is a smart and wickedly funny musical in which the jury—the audience—must decide the outcome of the biggest trial ever in the fairy-tale world!

The kids in the picture are (left to right) Brandyn Kirchhoff, Joshua Johnson, Vincent Frank, and Bri Fredrickson.
The notorious Big Bad Wolf (played by Bruce Bennett) is being slapped with a class-action lawsuit by storybooks of quirky characters who want to get even: Little Red Riding Hood (Bri Fredrickson), her Grandmother (Marilyn Evans), the Three Little Pigs (Vincent Frank, Joshua Johnson, Brandyn Kirchhoff) and the Shepherd (Scott Phillips) in charge of the Boy Who Cried Wolf (Nick Bonarski). With Sydney Grimm (Katie Zank) as the commentator on live Court TV, the two greatest legal minds in the Enchanted Forest—the Evil Stepmother (Linda Hunt) and the Fairy Godmother(Whitney Dykhouse)—clash in a trial that will be remembered forever after. Was he born a criminal, or made one? Rounding out the cast are the wolf’s entourage, the wolfettes (Anna Johnson, Jenna Johnson, and Roshannah Cole), Miss Muffett (Randi Koogler), Rumpelstiltskin (Evan Diehl), Judge Wisest of Men (Russ Cole), Bill Woodcutter (Steve Johnson), a fairy – as in fairytale (Hannah Koogler), Rapunzel (Melanie Kirchhoff) and Mary, Mary Quite Contrary (Tia Hawkes).
Come be part of the jury and decide the wolf’s fate. There will be a different ending each night. Show dates are July 14-18, 2010. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for kids 12 and under and seniors, and $12 and $10 at the door. Wednesday night, July 14, is just five dollars! Tickets can be purchased at Chase Bank, Cedar Springs Library, The Kent Theatre, or any cast member. More information is on the Kent Theatre website at www.kenttheatre.org.
