Sandra K. Michalek age 61 of Ionia, passed away June 21, 2010. She was born March 12, 1949 in Grand Rapid, MI, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Jaskiewicz) Helsel. She married Michael Michalek January 1971 in Grand Rapids. He preceded her in death August 11, 2001. Sandra was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She was also a faith formation teacher at the church.  Sandra is survived by her mother Dorothy Helsel of Ionia, Sandra’s children Mike (Leslee) Michalek of Belding, Joann (Matt) Johnson of Ionia, and John Michalek and Beth Moore of Ionia; grandchildren Erin Woods, Caitlin Robinson, Cydney Robinson, David Michalek, Jack Michalek, Amelia Johnson and Lillian Johnson; great-grandchildren Jack Wickham and Seth Woods; sisters Deb (Carl) Allen of Cedar Springs and Tina (Mike) Hoxsie of Cedar Springs. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services will be held Friday 11 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Tom Boufford celebrant. Interment Otisco Township Cemetery.
