Thursday, June 24 will be a great day for kids because that’s when WOOD TV8’s Maranda brings her park party back to Cedar Springs! And not only is she bringing it back, the park party will be the kickoff event for Maranda’s summer full of fun!
Maranda will once again rock six parks throughout West Michigan in bigger and better ways than ever before. “I’m thrilled that we are once again able to offer Park Parties to families in West Michigan. I know many appreciate the fact that it’s a day of free fun with no worries of cost or commitments,” said Maranda.
Maranda was first here in 2008, and according to Amanda Gerhardt, Director of Cedar Springs Area Parks and Rec, they liked it so much they decided to come back again. “To have her back a second time is a true honor,” Gerhardt told the Post earlier this year.
The day starts at 11 a.m., with lunches for those 18 and under being served at the Cedar View Elementary cafeteria. From noon to 2 p.m. there will be free rides, entertainment and give-aways. Free Ice Mountain Water, snacks from McDonalds, ice cream from Country Fresh, and much more will be given away. Entertainment will be provided and Maranda will also be giving away great prizes. The fire trucks, police cars and ambulance will be on hand as well for the kids to explore. One of the new additions this year will be a ropes course.
Parking will be available at the Cedar Springs High School, Cedar Trails main lot, Beach Elementary, Red Hawk Elementary and New Beginnings High School. These locations will have shuttle busses to take attendees between Cedar View and Cedar Trails elementary buildings, where the fun will be happening. There WILL NOT be parking at Cedar View Elementary. Handicapped persons will be able to park at Cedar Trails Elementary Bus Area.
